Born-digital objects: transformations and new documentary challenges?

Special issue coordinated by Benoît Epron (ELICO, HEG Genève), Nathalie Pinède (MICA - Université Bordeaux Montaigne) and Agnieszka Tona (Enssib, ELICO - UDL).

This first issue of the journal Balisages explores the confrontation between natively digital objects - hybrid, structurally unstable, complex, dynamic - and documentary logics (collection, description, classification, sharing, dissemination, conservation and archiving). The aim of this dossier is therefore to highlight the permanence and renewal at work in this confrontation.

The six texts brought together contribute to sketch out some broad outlines of the dynamics at work in documentary approaches to these natively digital, composite and fluid objects, between traditional markers, necessary adaptations and socio-digital innovations.
