In the framework of the five-year program of the CELEC, this article reflects on the notion of relation –understood both in the sense of narration and in the relationship between two elements– in literary fiction. En effet, par le prisme de la littérature et de l’histoire, l’auteur explore les relations entre les différentes communautés de l’Afrique du Sud, qui se justifient par la situation des personnages et le système politico-judiciaire. Cette étude permet ainsi de relever le projet universel de l’auteur dont l’axe essentiel est la réconciliation des peuples. This article shows how the context of enunciation in A Dry White Season is based on the history of apartheid in South Africa. Through the lenses of history and literature, the author, André Brink, explores the relationships between the various South African communities regarding the politico-legal system and the situation of the characters.
