Cette étude analyse les différents emplois de /pyi2/, qui est défini dans les grammaires traditionnelles comme une des trois marques de fin de phrase affirmative. Nos analyses montrent que /pyi2/ est la marque d’une discontinuité entre le discours au présent et ce qui précède. S’appuyant sur les corpus du birman parlé contemporain authentique, qui, à notre connaissance sont peu accessibles pour les analyses linguistiques et au grand public, notre étude analyse /pyi2/ en distinguant quatre cas en fonction du rapport entre le « maintenant » du discours et ce qui précède. Burmese belongs to the Tibeto-Burman language family, in which there is a heavy presence of bound-morphemes, of which some (and not all) have one or more grammatical functions. This study attempts to describe the meaning of /pyi2/ in Burmese, which is typically described as one of the three sentence final markers for affirmative statements. Our analyses suggest that /pyi2/ expresses discontinuity between the present and the time that precedes. Dans notre étude, nous formulons au départ une hypothèse sur l’identité sémantique de già à l’œuvre dans tous ses emplois. Gia est défini comme une particule énonciative jouant un rôle essentiel dans la construction du discours. La séquence p – portée de già – correspond au maintenant du discours, dans un rapport de discontinuité avec le contexte gauche, noté p’. Nous distinguons cinq grands types de variation de già où, en fonction du rapport entre p et p’, son identité sémantique se déploie de façon spécifique. Ces cinq types de variations sont décrits sur la base d’une analyse d’exemples authentiques. Traditionally, the usage contexts of già are divided into four types: temporal, emphasizing, scalar and absolute. This study starts with formulating a hypothesis on the semantic identity of già in all its uses. Gia is defined as a discourse particle which plays an important role in discourse construction. The sequence p - the scope of già - corresponds to the “now of the discourse” (the very moment of the discourse), situated in a relationship of discontinuity with the left context, denoted p'. The semantic identity develops in five different ways, depending on the relationship between p and p'.
