      <link>https://publications-prairial.fr/elad-silda/index.php?id=1882</link>
This article introduces an interpretive framework for analyzing mimico-gestural cues in traumatic narratives, based on an exploratory study conducted with 11 French–English bilingual speakers. In this context, we propose a tool for interpreting mimico-gestural markers in trauma-related accounts, with the aim of analyzing nonverbal expressive dynamics involved in the verbalization of trauma. The approach integrates insights from psychotraumatology (Auxéméry &amp;amp; Gayraud, 2020; Foa et al., 1995; Stratou et al., 2013; Michopoulos et al., 2015; Offor et al., 2024), research on coverbal gesture (Tellier et al., 2012; McNeill, 1992, 2000, 2005; Kendon, 2004), and the neotenic perspective on bilingualism (Bajrić, 2013). The methodology is based on an experimental protocol involving two videoconference interviews per participant. Each interview consists of two phases: a free narrative of a potentially traumatic event and a metalinguistic commentary. The data are annotated using a multimodal analysis pipeline (ELAN, DeepLabCut, OpenFace), with manual validation. The NV‑SPLIT‑10 grid was developed through detailed data analysis, including gesture segmentation, categorization, and the definition of ten functional items. Each item is described using observable criteria (frequency, co-occurrence, intensity), and the activation level is computed through a weighted set of parameters. The grid is then applied to two representative case studies to evaluate its robustness and interpretive potential. Findings indicate that the NV‑SPLIT‑10 enables the identification of expressive variations related to the subjective status of the languages used and reveals distinct mimico-gestural configurations. As such, this framework offers a structured analytical tool that may address several methodological limitations highlighted in the existing literature. </description>
