Dans la région autonome du Trentin-Haut-Adige, les problèmes linguistiques ont été, au fil de l’histoire, d’un intérêt majeur. De ce fait, les politiques régissant les langues ont fonctionné dans un cadre lié au maintien et à la défense du ladin dans cinq vallées au sein des départements de Bolzano, Trente et Belluno. Le ladin vit dans ce panorama linguistique entre deux langues dominantes : l’italien et l’allemand. Cette contribution a pour but de mettre en relation les néologismes du ladin avec l’origine des emprunts sur lesquels les nouveaux mots sont créés à travers une typologisation des néologismes. This paper is based on a research project in lexicography, and provides important insight into the complex issues of defining a neologism in Dolomitic Ladin in the context of language contact in Northern Italy. In the autonomous region of Trentino-Alto Adige, linguistic issues have, throughout history, been a major focus of interest. Policies governing language have been operating within a framework concerned with upholding and defending the Dolomitic Ladin spoken in five valleys in the provinces of Bolzano, Trento and Belluno. The Dolomitic Ladin have been simultaneously shaping the linguistic panorama of the region for as long a time as the two dominant languages: Italian and German.
