La coutume de la fête est d’autant plus remise en cause quand l’équinoxe de printemps et ses manifestations joyeuses correspondent à un rituel de deuil, comme ce fut le cas en 2006. La célébration de Noruz fut également prohibée sous le régime soviétique et l’une des premières mesures prises par les nouvelles républiques moyen-orientales fut son rétablissement. En Turquie, cette fête prisée par les Kurdes et les Alévis fut l’objet d’une réinterprétation, valorisant l’esprit patriotique. Noruz, the new year in the Iranian world, corresponds to the spring equinox. The rites and festivities to which this festival gives rise in Iran are described here. But celebrating the new year on a fixed date according to a solar calendar is opposed to the customs of the Muslim world governed by a lunar calendar. The custom of the festival is all the more called into question when the spring equinox and its joyous manifestations correspond to a ritual of mourning, as was the case in 2006. The celebration of Noruz was also prohibited under the Soviet Union and one of the first steps taken by the new Middle Eastern republics was its re-establishment. Nous choisirons de nous concentrer sur le rapport entre le mythe et l’idée nationale, d’une part, et le mythe et les idéologies politiques, d’autre part. Avant d’envisager ces questions, nous présenterons d’abord les travaux de Gilbert Durand issus de ses articles « Le social et le mythique » et « La cité et les divisions du royaume » ; puis nous nous intéresserons précisément à l’étude des deux axes annoncés. Cet article met ainsi l’accent sur l’importance de l’imaginaire dans la politique et dans la société. Nous conclurons sur l’évolution actuelle, en particulier en Europe occidentale, où le mythe ne joue plus son rôle fédérateur pour la société. The relationship between the imaginary and the political has many aspects and it is not possible to address them all in this paper. We will choose to focus on the relationship between myth and national idea, on the one hand, and myth and political ideologies on the other. Before considering these questions, we will first present the work of Gilbert Durand from his articles “Le social et le mythique” and “La cité et les divisions du royaume”; then we will focus on the study of the two axes announced. This paper thus emphasizes the importance of the imaginary in politics and society.
