À travers la mise en relief de plusieurs événements symboliques qui marquent la reconnaissance officielle de la sainteté du martyr, décapité en Prusse en 997, il est question de s’interroger sur l’évolution de l’imaginaire religieux à cette époque d’acculturation chrétienne, afin de comprendre pourquoi le patronage dynastique et patriotique a été attribué à saint Adalbert en Pologne médiévale. The object of this article is to present, through the example of the birth of the cult of Saint Adalbert, Bishop of Prague, the means by which his hagiographic myth evolved within the ideological and cultural fabric of Poland around the year 1000.
