Dans un premier temps, on essaiera de dépasser l'approche typologique qui a longtemps prévalu pour étudier le bâti populaire. Dans un deuxième moment, on tentera de retrouver la matérialité du bâti populaire, souvent mésestimée, ce qui favorise sa disparition. Enfin, on ébauchera/décrira le jeu d'acteurs qui concourt à la production de la ville ordinaire. The purpose of this paper is to identify some avenues for analysis of the built environment of the ordinary city. First, we will try to go beyond the typological approach that has long prevailed to study popular buildings. In a second moment, we will try to recover the materiality of the popular building, often underestimated, which favours its disappearance.
