Cette recherche ontologique conduit à définir un design cosmoplasticien, irréductible à tel ou tel monde, ou à tel ou tel moment de l’histoire, et amène alors à définir l’homme comme Homo designensis. The starting point of this article is the designers themselves – more specifically Gropius, Moholy-Nagy, Papanek, Mendini, Sottsass –, and our purpose is to demonstrate that an epistemological approach in design research might describe its disconcerting practices, but cannot fully bring light its existential stake, which is that design is related to the very essence of man.
