Au lendemain de la guerre, les discours antiféministes se relancent alors de concert pour s’opposer à ces avancées. Le droit est alors utilisé comme argument en renfort de ce discours pour justifier l’exclusion des femmes de la sphère politique dans un premier temps. L’échec de l’adoption du suffrage féminin à plusieurs reprises pousse le discours féministe, à l’instar du discours antiféministe à se concentrer sur les droits des femmes dans la sphère privée notamment au sein du couple. L’arrivée du régime de Vichy incarne alors le discours antiféministe dans ses mesures juridiques. At the end of the First World War, women's involvement in the war effort gave them hope that their political demands, such as the right to vote, would be met. In the immediate aftermath of the war, anti-feminist arguments were launched in concert to oppose these advances. Law was used as a back-up argument to justify the exclusion of women from the political sphere in the first instance. The failure on several occasions to adopt women's suffrage encouraged feminist discourse, like anti-feminist discourse, to focus on women's rights within the private sphere, in particular the couple.
