Dans une logique d’approche ethnographique, elle va chercher à se rapprocher des acteurs de son terrain d’enquête à savoir les élèves d’une classe de cours préparatoire d’un quartier sensible d’une petite ville de province. L’article cherche d’une part à comprendre en quoi cette lecture offerte théâtralisée renommée lecture offerte « play » (LOP) peut être qualifiée de créative et d’autre part à élucider différents facteurs en jeu dans la mise en œuvre de ce dispositif que ce soit du point de vue du chercheur ou de celui des participants. This article describes and analyses a didactic device for practising creative reading that was devised and implemented by a researcher as part of a collaborative research project, based on Picard’s distinction between reading play and reading game. In an ethnographic approach, she sought to get closer to the actors in her field of investigation, namely the pupils in a preparatory class in a disadvantaged area of a small provincial town.
