Les dures données climatiques – la Seine a débordé –, les prophéties menaçantes et les motifs dramatiques et eschatologiques propres à effrayer les peuples permettent d’apprécier les jeux de reprises et de contrepoints des textes parodiques. Ainsi « rire de l’actualité » dans le cas de cet enlèvement est une manière de jouer avec les mots et les peurs. C’est un rire traumatique et exutoire qui traduit cependant un rapport émotionnel à l’actualité ambigu. Can one laugh at the kidnapping of the king in 1649 ? To answer this question, we propose the hypothesis that laughing at the news is a reaction, and that it is always more "powerful" when the tension is violent. This tension, linked to the anxiety and fear of the Parisians, can be measured by the speed and abundance of the libels published as early as January 6, the day after the evasion of the court to Saint-Germain. The severe weather - the Seine overflowed -, the threatening prophecies and the dramatic and eschatological motives suitable to frighten the people allow to appreciate the games of resumptions and counterpoints of the parodic texts. Thus "laughing at the news" in the case of this kidnapping is a way of playing with words and fears.
