Usually considered as a Republican State, the majority of Arizonans chose the Democratic candidate in November 2020 for the first time since 1996. We will analyze the reasons of the transition from a red to a purple state, through the aspects of the demographic changes that started in the 2000s, the anti-migration policies such as SB 1070 in 2010 and border security measures.
