Progressivement, elle a pris des contours politique et diplomatique. Sa diplomatie se déploie entre autres dans les instances internationales comme l’Organisation des Nations unies (ONU) et se met essentiellement au service de la culture dont la promotion de la langue française. Cette diplomatie culturelle et d’influence francophone est articulée par les Représentations permanentes et les réseaux des Groupes des ambassadeurs francophones. Since its creation in 1970, La Francophonie has given itself a cultural foundation through the political will of its Founders. Gradually, it turned into political and diplomatic aspects. Its diplomacy is deployed among other international organizations such as the United Nations (UN). Its first goal is to promote culture including the promotion of the French language.
